Staying true to the Aloft winemaking philosophy, the 2011 vintage exudes Howell Mountain’s unique characteristics of blueberries, bittersweet dark chocolate, and black pepper. As the wine continues to open, layers of Bing cherry, raspberry, and boysenberry are brought to the edge of your glass and complimented with an elusive toastiness, leather, and black tea. The notes are just as expressive on the palate as they are on the nose, revealing hints of cigar box and red fruit. Aloft’s signature mountain tannins, finessed and silky, coat the entire mouth with a long and lingering finish. This is truly a beautifully layered 2011 with the complexity and finish that will leave a lasting impression.
